A Message from the Executive Director

Deborah Dangerfield

In 1978, the idea was conceived that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. should give birth to a separate and independent entity that would provide perpetual funding for lifelong learning. In 1980, that idea became a reality.

Some 25 years later, the Educational Advancement Foundation (EAF) is a powerful tool for good, pooling the resources of those who share the vision of finding excellence in all communities and at all stages of life. EAF has awarded more than $1.5 million dollars in scholarships and community awards to over 1,500 individuals and community organizations.

EAF is truly a testament to the impact of an idea: to become a catalyst for change in our communities—now and throughout perpetuity.

The Foundation has grown from a vision and $10,000 in seed money into a million dollar organization that enriches the lives of thousands of people from all backgrounds a catalyst for change in our communities, our impact will undoubtedly be felt for generations to come.

Work we do makes a real difference and your generous support makes it possible.

As we enter our 2nd quarter of existence, we are reminded of the challenges ahead and how we can intensify our charitable giving momentum. The impact of the Educational Advancement Foundation can be measured by our financial strength and the broad base of support we enjoy. With the Alpha Kappa Alpha vision of an Extraordinary Service Program, EAF is ready to focus on Excellent Scholarly Performance.
